You can put this solution on YOUR website!
cans of pop for $0.50 ------------x items
bags of popcorn for $0.75.---------y items
x+y=200...................1
0.5x+0.75y=130
multiply 100
50x+75y=13000.............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -75
Multiply (2) by 1
-75 x -75 y = -15000
50 x 75 y = 13000
Add the two equations
-25 x = -2000
/ -25
x = 80
plug value of x in (1)
1 x + 1 y = 200
80 + 1 y = 200
1 y = 200 -80
1 y = 120
y = 120
