Question 517366: GIVEN:
triangle ABC has vertices A(2,1) B(7,4) and C(4,-1)
triangle DEF has vertices D(-3,1) E(0,-4) and F(-5,-1)
PROVE:
triangle ABC is congruent to triangle DEF
(it is a 7 step proof)
I understand that I need to utilize the distance formula to prove corresponding sides congruent, then use the SSS (side side side) postulate to prove the triangles congruent, but I do not understand how to fit this into seven steps. I also don't know whether to use properties of equality or not to justify my equations, but that would make the proof far too long.
-thanks for the help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Six uses of the distance formula (one for each side of each of the triangles) that is six steps. Then the one step to demonstrate SSS. QED.
