i know the perimeter formula for a rectangle is P = 2(L + W) or P = 2L + 2W
but i can't figure out the formula to get the length. i know that you probably have to divide so Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! find the length when the perimeter = 24 & width = 4.
2L + 2W = p
we know p and w, therefore
2L + 2(4) = 24
2L + 8 = 24
2L = 24 - 8
2L = 16
divide both sides by 2
L = 8
