You can put this solution on YOUR website! I'll solve the second and you can solve the first as the process is exactly the same -- always solve for y. By adding y to both sides in the first equation of the second problem, we get . Now subtract 3 from both sides to get. For the second equation, add 6x to both sides to get . Now divide both sides by 6 to get . Because both equations have the same slope of 1, we know they will be parallel lines. Graphing both lines:
