You can put this solution on YOUR website!
width 1/4 of length
it means length = 4 times width
x = width
2(4x+x)=60
2(5x)=60
10x=60
x=6
4x=24
6 & 24 are the dimensions

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Perimeter = 2(L+W) =60
.
W = 1/4*L
.
substitute
.
2(L+W) = 60
2L +2(1/4*L) = 60
2L + 1/2L = 60
.
multiply by 2 to cancel the fraction
.
4L + L = 120
5L = 24
.
W = 1/4*24 = 6
.
check the perimeter
P = 2(24+6) = 2(30) = 60
.
Answer: Length = 24, Width = 6
.
Done.
