You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the absolute value means that 3x+5 equals ±1, so you solve for BOTH solutions

3x + 5 = 1 ___ 3x = -4 ___ x = -4/3

3x + 5 = -1 ___ 3x = -6 ___ x = -2
