You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Well first do 1/2x+1/3(3x)=3.You do this because we know y=3x. Now simplify to get 1/2x+1x=3. Now find a common denominator and add 1/2x+2/2x to get 3/2x=3. Now multiply each side by 2/3 to get x=2. Now plug this into your other equation y=3x to get y=3(2), y=6. So x=2 and y=6. Hope this helps!!

All you have 2 do is plug in 3x for y and then your problem should read 1/2x+ 1/3(3x)=3! So now all you have to do is simplify 1/3 and 3x. You should get x because the 1/3 and the 3 should cancel out. Now your problem should read: 1/2x+ x=3 and then you finish the problem and you should get 3/2x=3 so u multiply 2 on both sides then u divide by 3 on both sides and you should then get x=2 as your final answer.
