You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Another problem to break into parts and analyze. Using logic, we know she has 3x the amount of nickels and she does quarters. So, lets create a formula to help us solve our problem by trial and error.
(N x $.05)+ (D x $.1) + (Q x $.25) = $2.00
Now lets plug in numbers, remember d and q are equal, and N is 3x larger than them. To start, I'll use D=5 Q=5 N=15.
(15 x $.05) + (5 x $.1) + (5 x $.25) = $2.50
Nope too high. Lets continue plugging in numbers. N=12, D=4, Q=4
(12 x $.05) + (4 x $.1) + (4 x $.25) = $2.00
So there is your answer. She has 12 nickels, 4 dimes, and 4 quarters.

Hope this helped, all the best.
