The perimeter is 40.6 cm. Find the width.

Perimeter: 2L + 2W = 40.6

It says,"length is 2.5 cm less than twice the width."
L = (2W-2.5)

In the perimeter equation, replace L with (2W-2.5)
2(2W-2.5) + 2W = 40.6
4W - 5 + 2W = 40.6
6W = 40.6 + 5
6W = 45.6
W = 45.6%2F6
W = 7.6 cm is the width
