You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5[2 - (2x - 4)] = 2(5 - 3x)

We want to remove the innermost grouping symbols, the parentheses.

To get remove the parentheses -(2x - 4) first write it as -1(2x - 4)

5[2 - 1(2x - 4)] = 2(5 - 3x)

We remove the parentheses by using the distributive principle:

   5[2 - 2x + 4] = 10 - 6x

Combine the 2 and the 4

      5[6 - 2x] = 10 - 6x

       30 - 10x = 10 - 6x

Subtract 30 for both sides

           -10x = -20 - 6x

Add 6x to both sides

            -4x = -20

Divide both sides by -4

              x = 5
