Question 513751: I am trying to help a friend with an algebra problem and am coming out with one answer, she's getting a 2nd and some computer thing at her school says a 3rd which neither of us can figure out. Here is the equation: 6{[3(n-15)+18]-[2(3n-3)+5]}. I'm getting -18n-156 as an answer. She is getting -18n+12 and the computer program at her school says -18n+24. HELP!! Thanks so much!! You can put this solution on YOUR website! Here is the equation: 6{[3(n-15)+18]-[2(3n-3)+5]}.
--------
That's not an equation, there's no equal sign.
----
6{[3(n-15)+18]-[2(3n-3)+5]}
= 6{[3n-45+18]-[6n-6+5]}
= 6{[3n-27]-[6n-1]}
= 6{-3n - 26}
= -18n - 156
