You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x = length
x + 8 = width
24 = perimeter
Therefore:
Perimeter = 2length + 2width
Perimeter = 2x + 2(x+8)
24 = 2x + 2x + 16
24 – 16 = 4x
8 = 4x
2 = x … length
x + 8 = width
2 + 8 = width
10 = width
