Question 513000: (This is a Re-post)
Hello, Was wondering if someone could shed some light on this for me:
g(x)=5/4-5x (the 5 is on top of the fraction bar, and the 4-5x is underneath the entire fraction bar.)
Choose the correct domain.
A. {x\x is a real number and x ≠ 5}
B. {x\x is a real number and x ≠ 0}
C. {x\x is a real number and x ≥ 4/5}
D. {x\x is a real number and x ≠ 4/5}
I'm not even sure what the ≠ means.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
g%28x%29+=+5%2F%284-5x%29
The function is defined for all real numbers in which the denominator ≠ 0
The denominator will equal 0 if 4 - 5x = 0 -> x = 4/5
So the answer is D. all real numbers and x ≠ 4/5 (does not equal 4/5)
