In a square, P = 4s where P ius the perimeter and s is a side

       17 < P < 56

Since the perimeter of a square is 4s, 

        17 < 4s < 56

Divide all three sidea by 4

      17/4 < 4s/4 < 56/4 

        4.25 < s < 14

Therefore, each side is between 4.25 and 14 feet.
