You can put this solution on YOUR website!
P = perimeter
L = length
W = width
.
P = 2(L+W) = 2L + 2W
P = 194
.
The length is 73 more than width.
.
L = W+73
or
L-73 = W
.
substitute L = W+73
.
2(L+W) = P
2(W+73 +W) = 194
2W + 146 + 2W = 194
4W = 48
W = 12
.
L = W+73
L = 12+73
L = 85
.
Check to see if the perimeter is correct.
.
2(L+W) = ??
2(85+12) = 2(97) = 194
Correct.
.
Answer: The width = 12. The length = 85.
.
Done.
