You can put this solution on YOUR website! Multiply the second equation by 2 to match the coefficients, numbers in front, for the y value to get: 10x - 4y = 36. Now add both equations to get: 13x = 26. Divide both sides by 13 and you get the x value of 2. Now substitute that into either one of the original equations to get the y value. I chose the first eq and got 3(2) + 4y = -10, subtract 6 from both sides and get -16. Last divide by 4 and get the y value of -4.
