Question 509647: Dear teacher,
I am having difficulties with the following problem:
In how many ways can a group of 2 turtles and 1 iguana be formed from a total of 8 turtles and 2 iguanas.
I calculated two possible answers: (8C2 X 2C1)/10C3 = 0.47
Which one is right?
P(A and B and C) = P(A) X P(B) X P(C) = 8/10 times 7/9 times 2/8 = 0.16
Thank you. Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! In how many ways can a group of 2 turtles and 1 iguana be formed from a total of 8 turtles and 2 iguanas.
.
8C2*2C1
=28*2
=56 ways. This is not a probability question.
