You can put this solution on YOUR website! I may be thinking about this too complicated, but I would say false. The reason being is if you have a horizontal or vertical line. Then there is only one unknown since either the y-value or x-value is fixed.

 True, except for, eg, x = 5, or y = 2.
 x = 5 can be x + 0y = 5, and 0x + y = 2, which is still 2 variables.
 I'd go with true.
