You can put this solution on YOUR website! Write the equation of the quadratic function in standard form y=a(x-h)^2+k
1. Given the vertex is (2,1) and passed through the point (5,2)
I honestly don't have any idea where to begin.
-----------
If the vertex is (2,1) then h=2 and k=1.
So, y=a(x-2)^2+1
If it passes thru (5,2) substitute for x and y to get:
2=a(5-2)^2+1
2=a(9)+1
9a=1
a=1/9
So the equation is:
y=(1/9)(x-2)^2+1
