You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x = number of $2.79 drinks. There were 16 packs total, and the rest are at $2.99
16 - x = number of $2.99 drinks

2.79 (x) + 2.99(16-x) = 46.04
2.79x + 47.84 - 2.99x = 46.04
-.20x + 47.84 = 46.04

Subtract 47.84 from each side to get all number terms on the right side.
-.20x + 47.84 - 47.84 = 46.04 - 47.84
-.20x = -1.80

Divide both sides by -.20:
%28-.20x%29%2F%28-.20%29+=+%28-1.80%29%2F%28-.20%29
x+=+18%2F2+=+9 at $2.79
16-+x+=+16-9+=+7+at $2.99

Check:
9 at $2.79 = $25.11
7 at $2.99 = $20.93
Grand Total = $46.04
