One of two very nice methods for doing this is to use the Point-Slope Formula (given below). Given the slope of 3 and the point (1, 5), use the point slope formula, to write the equation for this line.
y-y1(1 should be lower)= m(x-x1(1 should be lower...
m is the slope and (x1(1 should be lower),y1(1 should be lower) is the point)
(when i say the 1 should be lower it should be like like y^1 but its on the bottom rightnot top)
