-4y+10=-2*3y+1-----> this step you got wrong...
it should be
-4y+10=-2*3y+(-2)*1
-4y+10=-6y-2
-4y+10+6y=-6y-2+6y
2y+10=-2
2y+10-10=-2-10
2y=-12
2y/2=-12/2
y=-6
