Question 507289: I just can't get the formula right for this equation, no matter what I've tried.
A factory conveyer belt is going 1.5MPH. A remote control car going forward on the belt travels 184 feet forward in the same amount of time the car traveled 64 feet in the opposite direction. The remote control car was going a constant speed. How fast was the car going if the belt was not moving?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the car goes about 3 times as fast WITH the belt as AGAINST the belt

(s + 1.5) = (184 / 64)(s - 1.5)
