1/2x + 2y = 5

you cannot solve this system of equations because
x+4y = 7
x+4y = 10
they are parallel lines which have 3 distance between. parallel lines do not have intercepts so there isn't an answer
slope equals to rise%2Frun which mean the change in y divided by the change in x (delta y / delta x). You better look at the lessons.
if you want to find y intercept give "0" value to x in the equation and x will be out of the way ;)
