You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let dimes be d
Let nickels be n
Value of dimes=10d
Value of nickels= 5n

n=3(d) ------eq1
10d+5n=1.50 ----------eq2
Convert 1.50 to cents.
So 1.50*100=150
10d+5n=150
Use substitution method. So substitute '3d' in eq2
10d%2B5%283d%29=150
10d%2B15d=150
25d=150
d=6
There are 6 dimes
