you set the inequality to 3x+5 0. If you are not given the sign how do you know what sign to put in the middle will it be 3x+5>0 (I got the answer from the answer book but how did they know to put it > 0 instead of < or greater or equal to OR less than equal to. once I know how the sign goes then I know how to proceed. it would be 3x+5>0 so you move the 5 to the opposite side, so now it reads 3x>-5, then to get the x by itself you divide by 3 to both sides then it reads x>-5/3.
