Roger, Sue and Tim have $90 between them. Roger has half the amount that Sue has. If Sue gives Tim $5, he will have twice as much as she does. How much does each one have?

Assume Roger has "x".
Then Sue has "2x".
And Tim will have 2(2x-5)= 4x-10
EQUATION:
x+2x+4x-10 = 90
7x=100
x=$14.29 {amount Roger has)
2x=$28.57 (amount Sue has)
4x-10= $47.28 (amount Tim has)

These numbers don't add up to exactly $90 because of
rounding off.
