You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the sum of the digits of a three digit number is six. the ten digit is one less than the units digit and the number is twelve more than one hundred times the hundred digit
Find the three digits
=================================================
Let h,t,u be the hundreds, tens and units digits
Given: sum of the digits = 6
h+t+u = 6
ten digit is one less than units digit
t = u - 1
number is 12 more than 100 times the hundred digit
The number can be expressed as 100h + 10t + u -> 100h + 10t + u = 100h + 12
The last equation gives 10t + u = 12
Substitute the value for t:
10(u - 1) + u = 12
11u = 22
u = 2
Therefore t = 1 and h = 6 - 2 - 1 = 3
Answer: 312
