To type an absolute value, just use the vertical line (just below the backspace!) on the keyboard.

An absolute value of any quantity must ALWAYS be greater or equal to zero. Therefore, no matter what x is, the quantity within the absolute value must be greater than -11, so the answer is all real values. In interval notation, this would be (-inf, inf).
