Question 50528: 14/x=5/3(x-18.5)
Answer by sinadone(8) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! What you do is multiply by x on both sides; on the side with the fraction, it cancels out. So you're left with: 14=5/3(x-18.5)*x
First multiply 5/3 times x and -18.5. After you get your result, multiply THAT by x again. Then set the equation equal to zero by moving the 14 to the right (remember that it becomes negative).
