distance + distance = total distance
rate * time + rate * time = 7
6(h) + 5(1.3 - h) = 7
6h + 6.5 - 5h = 7
h = 0.5
Plug: 1.3 - h = 1.3 - 0.5 = 0.8
He ran at six miles an hour for 0.5 hours or 30 minutes.
He ran at five miles an hour for 0.8 hours or 48 minutes.
