You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2b^2 + 7b + 4=0
2(b^2+(7/2)b+? = -4
b^2+(7/2)b+(7/4)^2=-2+(7/4)^2
(b+(7/4))^2 = -32/16 + 49/16
(b+(7/4))^2 = 17/16
Take the sqrt of both sides to get:
b+7/4= (sqrt17)/4 or b+7/4 = -(sqrt17)/4
b = [-7+(sqrt17)]/4 or b = [-7-(sqrt17)]/4
