You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How much water must be evaporated from 240 gallons of a 3% salt solution to produce a 5% salt solution?
----
Equation:
water - water = water
0.97*240 - 1.00x = 0.95(240-x)
-----
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
97*240 - 100x = 95*240 - 95x
----
5x = 2*240
x = 2*48
x = 96 gallons (amt. of water to evaporate)
