Question 503938: Which of the following is not a way to represent the solution of the inequality 2(x + 1) > or = to 20?
x >/= to 9
9 A number line with a closed circle on 9 and shading to the left.
A number line with a closed circle on 9 and shading to the right.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Question 1-
Since x is greater that or equal to 9, you would use a shaded circle on 9 and have it pointing to the right since those are the numbers greater than 9.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
So the answer would be: the wrong way to do it is: shading to the left
Question 2-
Get all numbers on one side and all x's one side.
-6x-10>14+ 2x (add 10 to both sides)
-6x>24+2x (Then subtract 2x from both sides)
-8x>24 (Then divide each side by -8 so we can get x alone)
REMEMBER- With inequalities, whenever you divide by a negative number, you have to flip the direction of the sign.
x<3
