Let x denote the number of quantities "shift 2" actually produce.
Therefore, "shift day" produces 4x quantities.
Total production = 5,500 cars
=> 4x+%2B+x+=+5500
5x+=+5500
+x+=+5500%2F5
X=1100
Hence, shift 2" produced 1,100 cars and "shift day" produced 4,400 cars this month.
