Let at time t joe and gayna meet
Distance covered by joe in time t is
d = 2.5*t -> eauaion 1
Distance covered by Gayna in time t
3-d = 3.5*t
from equation 1,
=>3 - 2.5t = 3.5t
3 = 6t
t = 1/2 hr
Distance travelled by joe in 1/2 hr is 2.5*1/2 = 1.25 miles
