You can put this solution on YOUR website! Three individuals form a partnership and agree to divide the profits equally. X invests $9,000, Y invests $7,000, Z invests $4,000. If the profits are $4,800, how much less does X receive than if the profits were divided in proportion to the amount invested? ---------------
Step #1: Determine the percentage X invested, as follows:
 Total invested = 20,000
 X invested 9000= 45% of the Total.
Step #2: Determine the amount of profit X would receive based
on his 45% contribution, as follows:
 45%(4800)= $2160
Step #3: Determine the amount of profit X will receive if the
profit is divided equally, as follows:
 4800/3= 1600
Step #4: Determine the difference between 2160 and 1600
 It is $560
