You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The diameter of each wheel on a bicycle is 26 inches. If you are travelling at a speed of 35mph on this bicycle, through how many revolutions per minute are the wheels turning?
**
Circumference of wheel=2πr=2π*26/2=26π in
speed of bicycle =35 mi/hr*5280 ft/mi*12in/ft*hr/60min
=(35*5280*12)/60 in/min
=36960 in/min
For each revolution, wheel turns 26π in
Angular speed of wheels=36960/26π=452.49 rev/min

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let x revolutions/min (inches) the wheels are turning
radius of wheel = 13 inches
circumference = 2*pi*r = 2*pi*13 = 26pi inches, linear distance (inches) one revolution of wheel has traveled.
one mile = 63360 inches
and it traveling at a speed of 35 mph (miles/hour) = 2,217,600 inches/hour = 2,217,600 inches/60 mins
x= (2,217,600 inches/60 mins)/(26pi inches) = 452.4897459 revolution/min
if you have alternative ways of solving it, i would love to hear from you, thank you
