You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Factor:
6x%5E2%2B13x%2B6
The factors will have the form:
%28ax%2Bm%29%28bx%2Bn%29 where:
a*b = 6 {The coefficient of the first term in your expression)
an+bm = 13 (The coefficient of the second term in your expression)
m*n = 6 (The constant term in your expression)
For a*b = 6, a = 1 and b = 6 or a = 2 and b = 3
For m*n = 6, m = 1 and n = 6 or m = 2 and m = 3
Now you do a little trial & error processing (Educated guessing)
Try a = 2, b = 3 and m = 3, n = 2
%282x%2B3%29%283x%2B2%29 Multiply these factors using FOIL to see if you get your original expression.
%282x%2B3%29%283x%2B2%29+=+6x%5E2%2B4x%2B9x%2B6 Simplify.
6x%5E2%2B13x%2B6 It works!
The factors are: %282x%2B3%29%283x%2B2%29
