Just note that irrational numbers are numbers that *cannot* be expressed as ratios of two integers (e.g. sqrt(2), pi). Rational numbers can be expressed as ratios of two integers, e.g. 3/5, -8, and 2.77777... (2 7/9 or 25/9).
