You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let
Present age of Ted = t
Present age of Sara = s
Ted is 10 times as old as his daughter Sara
t=10s.......(1)
In four years mean we have to add 4 in the present age of Ted and Sara
t+4=s+4
then, Ted will only be 6 times as old as Sara
t+4=6(s+4)
t+4=6s+24
t=6s+24-4
t=6s+20 ...........(2)
Put the value of t from (1) to (2)
t=6s+20
10s=6s+20
10s-6s=20
4s=20
Divide by 4 both sides of the equation
4s/4=20/4
s=5
Put the value of s in (1)
t=10s.......(1)
t=10(5)
t=50
Present age of Ted = 50
Present age of Sara = 5
