You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let
Present age of Debra = d
Present age of John = j
Present age of Kevin = k
Present age of Sara = s=5
Debra is 3 more than 9 times as old as John
d=9j+3...........(1)
Kevin is half as old as Debra
k=1/2 (d)
k=d/2 .............(2)
Sara is 5 yeas old which is one third as old as Kevin
k(1/3)= (s)
Put the value of s in above equation
k(1/3)=5
k/3=5
Multiply by 3 both sides of the above equation
3(k/3)=5*3
k=15
Put the value of k in equation (2)
k=d/2 .............(2)
15=d/2
Multiply by 2 both sides of above equation
30=d
d=30
Put the value of d in equation (1)
d=9j+3 ...........(1)
30=9j+3
9j+3=30
9j=30-3
9j=27
Divide by 9 both sides of the above equation
9j/9=27/9
j=3
Present age of Debra = 30
Present age of John = 3
Present age of Kevin = 15
Present age of Sara = 5
