Question 497233: Find the measure of an angle such that the difference between its supplement and 3 times its complement is 34 degrees.
I ended up trying to solve it and came up with -28, but that doesn't sound right. Can someone explain and help me solve this equation? Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let the angle you're looking be A, then:
(180-A)-3(90-A) = 34 Simplify and solve for A.
180-A-270+3A = 34
2A-90 = 34
2A = 124
A = 62 degrees.
