Question 496295: Hey I am just starting school and I have completely forgotten how to do these kinds of questions and was wondering if you could walk me through them. For example how would I change .15 to a percent?? and would it be any different from changing 7.2? Please help me if you could! :)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Interesting that I was just on the phone with my 11 yr old grandson, helping him with this very thing.

For example how would I change .15 to a percent??
You change .15 to percent by multiplying by 100; .15 * 100 = 15%
:
For example; what per cent is 15 of 60
Divide 15 by 60 = .25 is the decimal, mult by 100 to get 25%
we can say 15 is 25% of 60

Another example 30% of 250 = ?
Change 30% to .30 and multiply 250
.30 * 250 = 75
:
Not sure what you mean "changing 7.2", but to change 7.2% to a decimal, divide by 100 or just move the decimal 2 positions to the left .072 is the decimal equiv of 7.2%
