Question 496272: A right triangle has a hypotenuse of length 8 inches. If one angle is 35 degrees, find the length of each leg.
Please help me with this question my textbook only shows how to find the other leg when you are given one leg and a degree Answer by cleomenius(959) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! First I would find the other angle, 90 + 35 = 125.
180 -125 = 55 degrees.
We can use the sin function, since know the hypotenuse.
Sin 35 degrees = opp/hypotenuse = 4.59 inches for this side.
sin 55 degrees = opp/hypotenuse = 6.55 inches for this side.
4.59^2 + 6.55^2 = 8^2
21.1 + 42.9= 64 inches
This does check.
