Question 494825: I have done simple linear equations, such as 5x + 4 = 34, minus the 4 and divide the 30 with the 5 to get 6, so x = 6. But I am stumped on linear equations that have three on each side. My problem that I would like help on is:
(4x - 3 + 2x = 8x - 3 - x). I don't really know where to begin on this one. Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you. If you want to give me an example of how to do this kind of equation, I can figure out how to do this one on my own but I'm having no luck on this many digits.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x - 3 + 2x = 8x - 3 - x
---
Combine "like" terms:
6x - 3 = 7x - 3
---
Add 3 to both sides:
6x = 7x
---
Subtract 6x from both sides:
x = 0
