Question 494674: Okay, I need some help with this question asking about Inequalities with algebra based problems with a graph. I am not good at solving these types of problems when it asks which graph is it.
Question: "Select the correct graph of y ≥ |x + 1|."
How would you go about solving this?

Answer by stanbon(75887) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Select the correct graph of y ≥ |x + 1|
---
You can always plot a few points, then connect them.
---
Graph the equality:
If x = -3, y = 2
If x = -2, y = 1
If x = -1, y = 0
If x = 1, y = 2
If x = 2, y = 3
etc
---
Plot those points and connect them.
You should have a "v" shape with vertex at (-1,0)
---
Graph the inequality.
Shade the y values that are above the V shape.
---------------
That is the graph you want.
