Question 494516: How do you know when solving complementary, and supplementary angles if there is no complement or supplement?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since the question has not been answered after two days, I'll offer mine.
The problem will come when your angle is over 90 degrees looking for a complement or over 180 degrees when looking for a supplement.
After looking up, I found conflicting answers; some said the complements have to be positive, some say negatives are used.
So, the question is controversial when considering negative complements or supplements.
Best I could find, best I can offer.
