Question 493323: The question is: (word question)
"Two angles are complementary. The measure of one angle is 21 more than twice the measure of the other angle. Find the measures of the angles."
What I did: (not so good with word questions)
Complementary = 90 degrees.
I was going to try the way I learned in class today, using estimation. The only problem was that my teacher did not explain anything using the word "twice" and what to do. This throws me way off course. Answer by cleomenius(959) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! x + 21 + 2x = 90 degrees.
3x = 69.
x = 23 degrees
23 + 21 = 44 degrees.
2(23) = 46 degrees.
44 degrees + 46 degrees = 90 degrees.
This does check.
