You can
put this solution on YOUR website!
-4 = 2/5a
multiply both sides of the equation by a to get:
-4a = 2/5
divide both sides of the equation by -4 to get:
a = -2/20 = -1/10
replace a in your original equation to get:
-4 = 2/5*(-1/10) which becomes:
-4 = 2/(-5/10) which becomes:
-4 = 2/(-.5) which becomes:
-4 = -4
the value of a = -1/10 is good.
in decimal form, that's a = -.1
